This diplexer was designed by Holland Electronics and combines or separates the off-air and satellite signals. The advantage of this device over a standard splitter is the lower insertion loss, approximately 1-2 dB (vs 3.5-4.5), and the extended isolation. Satellite distribution systems use this device to combine the CATV or off-air signal with the launch amplifiers' output as well as to separate the signals before line amplification before the DBS receiver
